Library and Information Services Consortium (KLISC) in collaboration with Electronic Information for Libraries (Eifl) organized a two days training for Repository Managers in Kenya. The training was held at Multi-Media University of Kenya on 1st2nd September 2016 and it was officially opened by KLISC Chairperson Dr. Sophia Kaane. In her remarks, the KLISC Chair said that establishment of repositories in institutions is a strategic objective in the Consortium and that information professionals should be at the forefront in managing and preserving institutional knowledge. She encouraged the participants to strive to make a difference in their institutions through capturing and managing the local content.

The aim of the training was to enhance repository managers’ skills in administration and policy development in order to ensure local content is visible.

The participants were encouraged to ensure the repositories in their institutions have registered in Directory of Open Access Repositories (OpenDOAR).
