The ability to think and act in an entrepreneurially is an incredibly useful skill for the future sustainability of any organisation. In this webinar we will discuss the attributes and perspectives of a growth mind-set alongside real life examples, giving an introduction to the transformative process of how to identify and seize new opportunities for diversification and value creation. Leading the discussion will be Ian Williams, Director of Caplor Horizons, who many of you have already had the opportunity to meet and work with directly. A dynamic and energetic leader, Ian was previously CEO of Concern Universal, an international development charity, for 16 years. During that time it grew from a £2m to £23m organisation. Alongside Ian, INASP’s Kemal Shaheen will share some interesting insights around U-theory, a concept developed at MIT which focuses on leading from the emerging future in order to build more resilient, relevant and inclusive organisations. Lorna Pearcey will provide some case studies to illustrate how Caplor Horizons have undertaken this approach in their work across various countries, and you will also have the opportunity to hear from some of your own colleagues on their experiences within the African library consortia context. INASP’s Vanessa Fairhurst will be your host, managing the logistics and moderation of the meeting, so please do direct any technical issues to vfairhurst@inasp.info.
